SW HERBERT AUSTIN £250,000 TO SCIENCE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, April 30. “ What does it feel like to give away a quarter of a million sterling? ” a reporter asked Sir Herbert Austin, chairman of the Austin Motor Company. He answered: “ I don’t feel a bit excited.” .
The question followed the announcement of Sir Herbert’s gift of the amount stated to the Cavendish Laboratory, which is regarded as the outstanding scientific research institution in Britain.
