WRESTLING
KENT V. M‘CREADY To-morrow evening, at the Town Hall, Harry Kent, the “ Iron Man ” from Oregon, will make his first appearance in the local ring, his opponent being the clever Canadian, Earl M'Cready. This will be M'Cready’s first appearance in Dunedin this season, and local patrons of wrestling will recollect with pleasure the dean and clever displays of wrestling which this fine athlete furnished here last season. If the two previous meetings in the north between these men may be taken as an indication of wha't may occur here, it would appear that the claimant to the title of British Empire champion will require to be at the top of his form if he is to withstand successfully the challenge of the hefty ex-Oregon State footballer. Although their previous meetings resulted in a draw and a win for M'Cready, it is
worthy of note that the champion has as yet been unable to secure either a pin or a submission fall from Kent. Auckland sporting writers allege that the “ Iron Man ” was most_ unfortunate when these men met in that town, as, in the fifth round, when he appeared to have M'Crendy distressed, he missed with a flying tackle which carried him right over the top rope and amongst the audience, with the resuh he was injured l to such an extent that he could not continue. Up to the time of this happening he seemed to have much the better of the contest. The box plans close at the D.I.C. promptly at 11.30 a.m. tomorrow.
