WRESTLING
M'CREADY V. KENT
Wrestling enthusiasts at the Town Hall on Saturday evening are assured of witnessing a fast and thrilling contest ■when EarlM'Cready and Harry Kent wil again try conclusions. M'Cready, who claims to be the British Empire champion, is so well known' to local fans as to require no further introduction, though it is interesting to note that since his arrival in this Dominion ho has taken part in 54 contests for 49 wins, five draws, and no losses. He has secured 51 falls against his various opponents, while only three have been registered against him, two of these being by the Aucklander, “ Lofty ” Blomfield. Harry Kent, who will on this occasion be making his first appearance before a Dunedin audience, is a young grappler who favours the fast and open type of wrestling, and he is
an adept in the use of the flying tackle, the result of his years of training in the American football game. He is immensely powerful, and is as tall as the Canadian, though some seven pounds lighter in weight. These men have met on two previous occasions, and though the decisions have been a draw and a win for M'Cready, it speaks volumes for the skill and hardihood of Kent that the champion has obtained neither a pin nor a submisssion fall against him. The result of Saturday’s contest will undoubtedly prove of great interest, not only to local, but also to wrestling enthusiasts throughout the Dominion. Reservations may be made at the D.I.C. until 11.30 a.m. on Saturday morning.
