(Received April 30, at 11 a.m.) Ferrier, of Australia, was eliminated in the first round of match play in the Scottish amateur golf _ championship, being beaten by Charlie Johnston, a policeman of Montrose and the Scottish police champion. Ferrier drove wildly, being repeatedly bunkered. He was three down at the tenth, squared the match at the eighteenth, halved the nineteenth and twentieth, and was beaten at the twenty-first when he missed an 18in putt.
