BASIC WAGE REDUCTION

POSITION IN NEW SOUTH WALES Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, April 29. (Received April 29, at 1.5 p.m.) The recently declared basic wage is to be submitted to the United Australia Party and the United Country Party for consideration. Similar action was taken by the Bavin Government, when the reduction declared by the court was not enforced. This undertaking was given by the acting Premier, Mr Bruxner, in the Assembly in response to a Labour motion that a law should be passed to prevent reduction of the female basic wage and to enable the commission to declare a higher wage.
