‘THE DUBARRY' ON THE SCREEN

• I GIVE MY HEART' F«R REGENT ■When picturegoors see the 8.1. P. film. ‘ I Give My Heart.’ which opens at the Regent on Friday, they will make the acquaintance of Gitta Alpar, the Hungarian soprano, who, experts agree, has one of the finest singing voices in the world to-day. Although, Gitta Alpar is well known on the Euro, pean stage and as a gramophone record* ing artist, this is the first time she ha» ever; been seen on the screen. ‘ 1 Giva My Heart ’ is the first authentic film version of the famous stage success, ‘ The Dubarry.’ and it contains all tha lovely music which made the original play the sensation of England. America, and the Continent. No better choica for the role of the Dubarry in the film could have been made than Gitta Al* pa- for the stage play was originally written especially to fit her vivacious personality and magnificent voice. Tha appeal of Gitta Alpar depends almost as much on the manner in which she presents her musical numbers as on tbo jßuperb quality of her voice. Unlike so many operatic stars, she does not plant' herself .firmly in the middle of a scene, swell out her chest and majestically give tongue.
