RUGBY LEAGUE
ENGLISH TEAM'S TOUR [Pek United Press Association.] CHRISTCHURCH, April 7. Protests of the exclusion of a Canterbury match against the touring English Rugby League team were voiced at a meeting last evening of the Management Committee of the Canterbury Rugby Football League, and its delegate ifco the annual meeting of the New Zealand Council next month was instructed to do all in his power to arrange a match. The chairman (Mr W. S. E. Moyle) pointed out that previous visiting British terms had been in Christchurch during Grand National Week, when accommodation had been difficult to obtain. He suggested that an attempt be made to secure some other date. As an alternative he proposed that a team representing Canterbury and the West Coast be selected and the game played in the nature of a test.
