LAURIER, PORT CHALMERS

Boris Karloff appears in another of his popular “horror” roles in ‘The Black Room,’ the film which is at present screening at the Laurier, Port Chalmers. Karloff appears as a new. type of fiend, and does some fine acting as tbe murderous Baron de Berghman. Ruling bis castle with a tyrannical hand, the baron is hated by all. The disappearance of young girls arouses the suspicions of tho peasants, and when they rise in righteous rebellion, the disappearances and consequent murders are traceable to the baron’s grisly black room, which is an inspired chamber of horrors. Boris Karloff is ably supported by Robert Allen, Alarion Alarsh, and Katherine De Alille, while the Dunedin actor, Colin Taplcy, also has a prominent role.
