Escaping gas is believed to have "been the 'cause of a terrific explosion which ■ severely damaged a residential buifding at the corner of Market and Kent 1 streets, near’ the centre of the city, to-night. Seven men arid three women,; mostly passers-by,’ were injured. A man who was riding past oh, a bicycle was hurled across a street, injuring his head. Windows as far as 200yds away were broken by the force of the explosion, which was followed •by tire, the latter-being controlled before it caused a great deal of additional damage. The proprietor of the building was among those injured.
