EXPANSION LEAGUE URGES RETENTION The success which has attended the steamer service between the South Island and Melbourne during the summer season has been such that a general feeling has been expressed that the Mamma should continue on the run at least till after Easter. Voicing the popular idea, the Otago Expansion League has communicated with the Union Steam Ship Company in Wellington advocating this course. A similar movement has been inaugurated in Southland, the Southland League having also approached tlie Union Company. It is felt that if the facilities are provided the traffic will gradually increase.
