Gale, -which arrived yesterday from Wellington, is expected to sail this evening for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Wanganui. Holraglen was duo this afternoon from Wellington, and is timed to sail to-night for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, New Plymouth, and Port Waikato. Storm is due on Sunday from Bluff, and sails on Monday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Pieton, and Wanganui. Waipiata, which arrived yesterday afternoon from Auckland via ports, sailed to-day for Bluff, and returns on Sunday. She will load on Monday for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. Rata sails from Westport to-morrow to discharge at Timaru. Oamaru. and Dunedin. Wuinui is due on Tuesday from Lyttelton to load general cargo. She will sail the same day for Wellington, Napier, and Gisborne via ports. INTERISLAND EXPRESS. The intcrisland express steamer Wahine reached Lyttelton from Wellington at 6.45 this morning. Passengers and mail for the south connected with the express. THE CANADIAN CHALENGER. The Canadian National steamer Canadian Challenger, which left Dunedin on January 10, reached New York on February 15 and Boston on February 20, leaving again the following day for Halifax - . The vessel is scheduled to leave Halifax to-morrow for Australia, Dunedin, Lyttelton, and Wellington. FORDSDALE FOR AUCKLAND. The Fordsdale left Port Chalmers this morning to complete her loading at Auckland for Loudon.

The Aorangi is to leave Vancouver on March 25 for Auckland and Sydney via Honolulu and Sydney. She is due at Auckland on April 13 and Sydney on April 18. The Monterey is to leave San Francisco on April 30 for Auckland and Melbourne via Honolulu, Pago Pago, and Suva. She is due at Auckland on May 17 and at Melbourne on May 24. CAPE YORK FROM PACIFIC COAST. The Cape York left Auckland on Wednesday for Wellington and other New Zealand ports to continue discharge of her American cargo. She was due at Wellington to-day, and is expected at Dunedin on March 6. AKAROA FROM ENGLAND. The Akaroa, en route from London to Auckland and Wellington, has radioed that she expects to reach Auckland to-morrow evening. RANGITATA CLEARS PANAMA, The Rangitata, which left London on February 6 for New Zealand, arrived at Colon on February 23, and left Panama in the afternoon of the same day, CANADIAN VICTOR AT HALIFAX. The Canadian National steamer Canadian Victor reached Halifax on February 18. She left Auckland on January 2 for New York. Boston, and Halifax. THE CANADIAN HIGHLANDER. 'The Canadian National steamer Canadian Highlander, which left Auckland on January 7 for New York, Boston, and Halifax, reached Halifax on February 17. She will now leave Halifax again on March 17 for Auckland, Wellington, and Australia. RfGMOR EN ROUTE. The tanker Rigmor is reported to have left the Black Sea on February 9 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. THE CANADIAN SCOTTISH. The Canadian Scottish, en route Irom Halifax to Auckland, Wellington, and Australia, cleared Louisburg on February 17. She is now due at Auckland, on March 27. HORORATA LEAVES PANAMA. 'The Hororata, en route from Liverpool to New Zealand in ballast, reached Colon on February 22, and left Panama on February 23. TANKER GARONNE. The Norwegian motor tanker Garonne is now en route from Palerabang to Auckland, Wellington, and Lyttelton. THE PORT WAIKATO. The Port Waikato arrived at Auckland on Wednesday from New South Wales ports. After discharging and loading she is to leave Auckland to-day for Wellington, Lyttelton, and Dunedin. The vessel is due ut tins port on March 5. HERTFORD SAILING. The New Zealand Shipping Company advises that the Hertford will sail tomorrow afternoon for New Plymouth. COPTIC CLEARS LAS PALMAS. In continuation of her voyage from Wellington to Loudon, the hhaw, barill, . and Albion motor ship Coptic is reported to have cleared Las Palmas on February 21. She was despatched from Wellington on January 21. VESSELS WITH PHOSPHATES. The Trioua left Naru Island for Auckland on February 20. She is due at Auckland on Sunday. The Beatus left Ocean Island on February 21 for Auckland, where she is due on March 3. NOTICE TO MARINERS. To continue discharge of her Japan- . eso cargo and load scrap metal, the Yamashita Kisen Kaisha steamer Chifuku Marti arrived at Dunedin yesterday from Japan via northern ports and Bluff. She was berthed at the Victoria wharf. From this port the Chifuku Maru will go to Timaru and Wellington to complete loading for Japan. MATAROA’S SAILING DATE. The Shaw, Savill Company advises that the Mataroa is to leave Lyttelton • to-morrow for Wellington to complete loading. She is now scheduled to sail i finally from Wellington at daybreak ■ on Thursday, March 5, for Southampton and London via Panama. IbENLEDI BOUND FOR DUNKIRK. The steamer Bcnledi, which loaded wool at Port Chalmers and other Dominion ports, left Timaru on Tuesday evening for Dunkirk, London, and Antwerp. She is due at Dunkirk about April 4. CANADIAN CRUISER FROM BLUFF. The Canadian .Cruiser was due this afternoon from Bluff. She sails in the morning for Lyttelton, Wellington, and W T anganui, sailing finally from the latter port on March 9 for New York, Boston, and Halifax. OAKBANK WIT^^HOSPHAI^i The Oakbank is due at Ravensbourne to-morrow morning from Lyttelton to discharge phosphates from Ocean Island. She will later come to Dunedin. ANGLO-AFRICAN AT AUCKLAND. The Anglo-African, from Antwerp with a cargo of basic slag, arrived at Auckland on Wednesday'. She will later discharge at Wellington and New Plymouth. NARBADA OUT OF DOCK. The Narbada having finished an extensive overhaul came up from Port Chalmers this afternoon to resume her running to Eastern ports. She will sail early on Sunday morning for Newcastle,' Rangoon, and Calcutta. PERSONAL. After serving for 25 years with the Union Steam Ship Company of New | Zealand Ltd., for whom he has held j command of no fewer than 24 steamers, j Captain Donald McDonald is retiring from the sea. During his service with the company' Captain M'Donald received the King’s Silver Medal for gallantry. The medal was awarded for heroic rescue work on board the Tahiti I at San Francisco in 1922, when some of the; crew were overcome by fumes from cyanide used for fumigating one of the ' ship’s holds. Two deaths resulted. Born at Stornoway, Outer Hebrides, Scotland, 51 years ago, Captain M'Donald served his time in various sailing , ships and steamers as ordinary and able seaman before joining the service of ' the Union Steam Ship Company as third officer of the Komata on March 27, 1911. He was appointed master on’ November 2, 1923, his first command being the Kakapo. It is tinderstood that Captain M’Donald intends ; 1 to reside in Auckland, where he will devote himself to various business interests. IN RADIO RANGE.
