The Forestry Commission has announced its decision to start new forests in so-called special areas where industries have not revived since the depression, in order to provide employment for forest workers as well as agricultural holdings for settling them and their families- The total holdings of the Forestry Commission in Great Britain cover nearly 1,000,000 acres, and in its nurseries there are this season 72,000,000 young trees grown from seed bought in Britain, Europe, Canada, or the United States.
