LAURIER, PORT CHALMERS

Despite the time she has been absent from the land of shadows, Mary Bickford has by no means been forgotten, and the majority of film lovers will he delighted with her new picture, ‘ Secrets,’ now at the Laurier, Port Chalmers, in which she makes a triumphant return to the type of role which is enshrined in so many memories. The “ world's sweetheart ” comes back a maturer Mary, not, perhaps, so slender as of yore, but witn her well-reraem-hered features still youthful and defiant of a merciless critic of age—the camera. ‘ Secrets ’ is a simple story of love and elemental emotions. The picture is more a series of episodes than a complete story. It is presented in three sections, showing Mary Bickford as a sweet young girl, as a young woman, and as a middle-aged woman, and in all three parts she is outstanding.
