THE SHARE MARKET

DUNEDIN STOCK EXCHANGE A sale of Refrigerating contributing? at 9s lid comprised the only business recorded at the meeting of the Exchange this morning. Bank of New Zealands revealed a tendency to harden, with buyers at. 47s 6d and no seller, while Reserves improved to buyers at £5 16s and no selling quote. There was a fair inquiry for meat and loan and agency shares, but there was a noticeable decline in the number of buying quotations recorded in the miscellaneous section. Australian mining shares continued to attract considerable attention, Electrolytic Zincs and Mount, Lyells being in particularly strong demand. A good inquiry was maintained for the short-dated issues of Government loans, of which there was an absence of sellers. The long-dated bonds and stocks continue to experience a dull market, an indication that investors are anticipating a hardening of interest rates. The price offered for Woolworlh (Sydney) ordinary shares continued to improve, buyers at £6 8s 6d attracting a seller at £6 10s 6d. Sale on Change.—New Zealand Refrigerating . (cont.), 9s lid.
