NORWEGIAN SINGING STAR FOR GRAND Tutta Rolf, blonde, fascinating, and a Norwegian, makes Jier American debut in ‘ Dressed to Thrill ’ with Clive Brook. This film, which opens at the Grand on Wednesday, combines very effectively romance, comedy, drama, and music. The possessor of a fine contralto, Miss Rolf proves that she can sing as well as act, and judging by the splendid characterisation she gives in a difficult dual role her position in Hollywood is assured. The story has many novel twists, and with splendid music and interesting settings this film strikes a new note in romantic musical dramas. The action, which opens in northern France, soon shifts to Paris, where the village girl, later a great actress, sets about to punish the man who had loved and.left her. The story provides ample scope _ for many unusual situations, and the directors have spared no effort in this direction. Clive Brook can always be relied on to give a likeable characterisation, and in ‘ Dressed to Thrill ’ he is seen' to good advantage.
