OTAGO RADIO LISTENERS’ LEAGUE.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Now that there has been a change of Government it is evident that there will probably be a change of policy in regard to broadcasting matters and also in connection with B stations. _ The above organisation has been in existence for a number of y'ears. During this period, w r hen various matters have cropped up which have seemed to prejudice the interest of the listeners and B stations, the league has always been in the position of being able to command a large amount of support from the listening public, and has always done its part in the work in assisting to adjust these differences. During the past year or so, however, there has not been the same demand from th© public, and it has not been necessary for the league to take the same active part, and consequently interest has_ flagged a little. In view to the possibility of changes which might be suggested in broadcasting, the league should be in the position that it can make its voice heard in these matters, and consequently the executive feels that some support is required from the listening public. At the last annual meeting a new executive was formed, and renewed interest is taking place from that body. New matters are being brought forward and dealt with, and in this connection I might refer.

to the advertisement which is appearing in this issue regarding the free services to members of the league. An endeavour is also being made to have representation on the executive from the suburban and rural parts of Dunedin and Otago. The league has been in touch with Mr Passmore, the board’s representative, in connection with other matters, and listeners can be assured that their interests are being watched on all occasions. The main object of writing this letter is to assure the listening public that the rumours that have been heard to the effect that the Otago Radio Listeners’ League is defunct are without foundation. The league proposes to be a very live body. —I am, etc., , W. J. Babdslbv, President Otago Radio Listeners’ League. February 20.
