CLUB NOTES Perfect weather conditions prevailed for the acceleration test held by the cycle section of the A.A.O. on Febiuary 15 At 2.15 p.m. a muster of over 20 riders left the club rooms and proceeded to the Spit, where a 200-yards course had been marked out oh the foreshore. From a standing start the competitors were required to make a run m each direction, the average time being taken. The timekeepers were Messrs Clifford Brown, W. Brown, and j. Bevin. The results were : 250 c.c. Class.—E. Newall (0.K.). Time, 12.2 sec. 350 c.c. Class.—E. Rillstone (Velocette). Time, lOsee. Unlimited.—B. Rosson (Mewhinney Special) and E. Rillstone (Velocette) equal. Time lOsec. , Mr A. E. Bingham presided over a good attendance of members and friends at the monthly meeting of the cycle section on Tuesday, February 18, in the club rooms. The hill .climb, which is to be held as usual at Bethune’s Gully, was discussed. This event has been postponed to March 28, the mystery run fixed for this date to be held on March 14. The latest position in the teams contest was given, the “ Wirrals ” having 834 points against the Wigans 789. Members were reminded of the pillion run, it being decided to run this to Whare Flat, leaving the rooms at 7.16. At the conclusion of the meeting various . members were drawn and they entertained with impromptu speeches. Entry forms are available at the A.A.O. rooms for the Oamaru hill climb, which is to be' held next Saturday, February 29. It is hoped that this popular event will be well supported by the Dunedin riders.
