THE STARTIX

A feature of the Startix automatic restarting system is that the control box must be properly earthed to the chassis. If the earthing system is defective it may result in the starter being cut in or out at the wrong times, and the symptoms are similar to those of a dynamo failure or a break in the circuit. Even where the control box is mounted on a metal dash it is usual to an additional wire from the box to the chassis frame to secure a satisfactory earth, and if trouble is experienced this point should be examined. The contacts in the system normally require neither cleaning nor adjustment, and no attempt should be made by an amateur to effect adjustment either by means of the locknutted grub screw on the box or otherwise, as it is a job for a service station .
