PROTESTANT ALLIANCE

At the meeting of the Valley True Blue Lodge, W.M. Bro. Campbell presided. Visitors present included P.M. Bro. Gilclirkt, of Star of Oamaru, and P.M. Bro. Jackson, of Triumph. A vote of thanks was accorded the visitors. After the meeting had concluded an enjoyable social was held. Music was supplied by the Jollity Boys, W.M. Bro. Campbell acting as M.C. At a meeting of Pride of the Valley Ladies’ Lodge, W.Mist. Sister Yeoman presided over a good attendance. The Visiting Committee reported having visited P.Mist. Sister Carrie, who had not yet recovered from her illness. A letter of thanks was received from Mrs Leslie (nee Cummings), acknowledging the lodge’s good wishes on her marriage. A letter of sympathy was sent to Sister Cossgrove, of Triumph, at present in hospital. Tnsti Bro. Zimmermann urged members to perfect their ritual work. At the opening for the year of Hope of Valley Juvenile Girls’ Lodge, W.Mist. Sister Knox presided over a good attendance of members. At the commencement of the meeting members stood in silence as a mark of respect to the memory of His Majesty King George V. _ Two_ candidates were initiated. Visitors included several members of True Blue Juveniles. The election of officers was held over till nest meeting night.
