, THE STRIKE POSITION MELBOURNE REJECTS PROPOSALS Press Asaociatifan—By Telegraph—Copyright SYDNEY, January 31. Arising out of the recent strike of the seamen and firemen on the New South Wales coastal vessels, Mr JusticeWebb, of the Industrial Commission, to-day, on the application of the shipowners, cancelled the preference clause in the men’s award. „ The Melbourne seamen to-day fell into line with the Sydney seamen and rejected the’proposed terms of settlement of the % shipping strike.
