HITLER’S DECREE

ARMY AND THE NAZI GUARDS ADJUSTMENT OF RELATIONS press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, January 31. 'Although some ’newspapers suggest that Herr Hitler’s disturbances decree may be in preparation to crush a revolt, the Berlin correspondent of ‘ The Times ’ points out that while the armed political army numbers 14,000 Nazi Guards, and hundreds of thousands of unarmed but disciplined Brown Shirts remain loyal, the Government need not, fear an internal rebellion. The correspondent expresses the opinion that the order. has been issued in connection with the adjustment of the relations between the army and the Nazi Guards, which will be easier if the army accepts the responsibility for internal order. The Berlin correspondent of the * Daily Express ’ says the decree has made the army all-powerful guardians of law and order, which privileged position was hitherto held by Storm Troops.
