Wellington’s Plunket Shield team against Otago at Dunedin, commencing January 24, is:—Lamason, Blundell, Blandford, Moloney, O’Brien, Ward, Ell, Gallichan, Rainbird, Parsloe, Griffiths; Wilson, twelfth man. The manager will be Mr E. J. Aim. The team leaves on January 21 and plays North Otago on January 22 and 23. , HAWKE CUP PALMERSTON N., January 10. The second Hawke Cup match of the season commenced this morning with Southland the challenging association. Manawatu won the toss and elected to bat on an easy wicket, with the outfield dead after heavy over-night rain and a steady downfall on Tuesday evening. Robertson and M‘Vicar opened Manawatu’s innings . quietly, but the succeeding overs proved more fruitful. Thirty runs were hoisted when Carswell accepted a catch from Robertson. SUVA, January 10. (Received January 10, at 1 p.m.) Beale's team of New Zealand players defeated a European representative team by 11 runs on the first innings. The visitors in the first innings scored 199 (Dunning 73) and the home team 101. The latter followed on, and in the second innings scored 100 for two wickets. ,
