RIFLE SHOOTING

KIWI CLUB The. Kiwi Club fired the first shoot of the No. 4 match on Saturday over the 300yds, 500yds, and 600yds ranges in fine but dull weather. Conditions were i for. seven shots (two optional sightera) at each range. Some good scores were registered. Riflemen Whitehead and Henshelwood each made 98, Whitehead taking pride of place in the count back. DeputyS resident Clayton, 33 at 300yds, Rifleman’ [enshelwood, 35 (a possible at 500yds, and Rifleman Whitehead, 34 at ; 600yds, were! the best at the various ranges. The following are the scores and handicaps:—

DUNEDIN DEFENCE CLUB

The Dunedin Defence Rifle Club shot < competition counting for the club’s championship and Murray Trophy on Saturday afternoon. Seven shots (two optional sighters) each were fired at 300yds, 500yds, and 600yds. Weather conditions were fair,: but poor visibility and a variable breezs made shooting rather difficult. Neverthe« less, some good scores were registered. Tha highest score at 300yds was 31, registered each by Riflemen R. A. Mackie, J. L. Ben. fell, and A. J. Robson in the order given,At 500yds Rifleman R. R. Mackie waa easily top with 34. Rifleman J. L. Benfell was top at 600yds with 33.. Rifleman R« A. Mackie headed the day’s aggregate with a good 97.
