ERECTION OF STADIUMS GERMANY SPENDS OVER A MILLION [Per United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, January,6. The president of the International Amateur Athletic Federation ,and a member of the Olympic Games Council, Mr J. Sigfrid Edstrom, arrived oy the Aorangi this morning, and hopes to see both the North and south Islands before sailing from Wellington on January 16. Discussing the Olympic Games to be held at Berlin in July and August next, ho said Germany had spent £1,100,000 preparing stadiums and other accommodation. The major ata•diuin would accommodate tiie swimming stadium 20,000, and the open air theatre 20,000. From a tourist point of view Germany was well organised, and there was no interference with foreigners.
