THE PEOPLE’S WELFARE.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —Hating read many letters from Mr G. A. Herring in the ‘ Evening Star,’ 1 -consider that be has always aimed high for practical Christianity in these tinnss of gross materialism. I hope we shall have many more letters from him and that his critics will read, mark, learn, and inwardly digest James, chapter v., and that this year of 1936 will become a year of real prosperity, with a strong and virile Labour Government to steer the ship of State. With sane and progressive legislation in this beautiful Dominion of ours there is no need for charity collections in our streets, nor dole depots. Loyal service from employees and a decent living wage from employers, including farmers, would soon mean a practical happy new year for all.—l am, etc." Radical. January 3.
