CALEDONIAN SPORTS
STRATH-TAIERI MEETING The fifty-eighth annual sports meeting of the Strath-Taieri Caledonian Society was held yesterday at Middlemarch, in the presence of a large crowd of spectators. The trains from Dunedin and Ranfurly carried large contingents of visitors. The weather was dull and overcast, and a strong breeze made conditions, especially for the cycle racing, a little difficult. The meeting was well organised by the committee of the society, under the leadership of the president (Mr W. S. Williams) and the secretary (Mr J. Slater), and little time was lost between events.
