PROSECUTION BY EDUCATION BOARD
POLICE CENSURED FOR INACTION [Per United'Press Association.], WELLINGTON, December 11. Arising out of the recent, court, pnw ceedings successfully taken jby it: over the-assault on a teacher at the Ohariu School, the Wellington Education Board, having received a memorandum from ■ the ' department that, in ■ th# opinion of the Crown Law Office, the police had sufficient power to take proceedings in such a case, passed a motion that, in view of.the failure of the nolle# to prosecute the offender, . the board placed, on record its emphatic protest at such inaction, and urged that, in the future, arrangements should bo made that would ensure that the pupils and teachers in tho schools.be given th« fullest police protection. |"The case is reported elsewhere ini Jins issue.], r- ' '
