NEW EDUCATION MINISTER

GREETINGS Of OTAGO BOARD Congratulations to the Hon. Peter Fraser on his assuming the office of Minister of Education were this morning offered by the Otago Education Board. The chairman (Mr J. Wallace) said he thought they should send. greetings to the new Minister of Education (Hon. Peter Fraser). From his knowledge of Mr Fraser he was. satisfied he would make a good Minister of Education. There had been many good men holding the portfolio, and he thought Mr Fraser would fill the office really well-. He was very pleased to see that Mr Fraser 'was also to be the Minister of Health, as, in his view, the Departments of Education and of -Health were very intimately connected. He was satisfied the Labour Party had made a very good choice in its Minister of Education. Mr Wallace moved that the board send its congratulations to Mr . Fraser, and express the hope that cordial rcla tions would exist between the board ,and the Minister during his term of office. The motion was seconded by Mr Cameron and carried.
