PROMISING YOUNG ATHLETE

One of the most promising young athletes in the province at the present time is H. D. Ramsay, who won the 100yds A grade sprint at the first scratch meeting of the season in 10 4-ssec against the breeze. Ramsay ran well ip sprint events at the Southland

championships last season, but he shapes even more promisingly over the low hurdles, and last season put up some fine performances over 220yds low hurdles. His hurdling is improving, and the cx-M'Glnshan athlete should be well to the fore in A grade and championship competition this season. He has quite a good style and is possessed of plenty of determination.
