REYNOLDS KINDERGARTEN BREAK-UP CEREMONY
A pleasant ceremony was attended by a large number of parents and friends at the Reynolds Free Kindergarten break-up yesterday afternoon, when the director (Miss Hancock) was also farewelled. Mre Phillips, executive member of the Dunedin Free Kindergarten Association, congratulated the school and staff on a more than usually successful year, and paid special tribute to the interest taken in her work by Miss Hancock, whose musical tuition had been a feature of the children’s education-. Miss Hancock’s retirement at such a time was to be regretted, but they had cause to remember all that this efficient director had accomplished during her connection with the-school. Finally Mrs Phillips thanked parents and members of the local committee for their assistance during the year. On behalf of the parents of the district Mrs Patterson handed a token of appreciation and esteem to Miss Hancock, following which the children entertained those present with a demonstration of their educational games and other school activities, and participated in the customary distribution of Christmas gifts.
