TEACHER ASSAULTED

DISTURBANCE W SCHOOL SEWEL Hi COURT PROSECUTION [Pee United Press Association.] WELLINGTON, December 10. A disturbance that occured at the Ohariu School on October 17 when the school teacher was alleged to have been assulted by the guardian of one of the boys and also insulted in. the presence of her pupils, was threshed out finally in the' Magistrate’s Court to-day, when Mr Stilwell, S.M., convicted and fined a woman on charges brought by the teacher and the Wellington Board. The hearing commenced on Friday. Mrs Georgina Reher was convicted and ordered to pay costs amounting to £6 10s 6d on a charge of assaulting Mrs Gladys Ethel Stone, and was convicted and fined £3 and costs £2 14s for insulting the teacher in the presence of her puftils. Referring to the charge of insulting the teacher the magistrate said it was a serious matter as it Kit at the whole foundation of school discipline.
