A message from the Wyatt Earp at Magallanes, Chile, says: “ AVe arrived here after a surprisingly short voyage of approximately four days and a-half from Deception' Island and anchored among the Chilean battle squadron, which is here on a general cruise. The Chilean authorities are keen, to assist the expedition in every Tvay, and to-morrow 1,000 gallons of petrol will be delivered aboard the AVyatt Earp from a Chilean battle cruiser. Our arrival was timely, since that vessel will leave this port to-morrow night. ” MR O’HARA’S OFFER [Put United Press Association.] AUCKLAND, December 6. The following cablegram has been received by Mr W. M. O’Hara from the Federal Minister of Defence in reply to his offer to join the Australian expedition to search for Mr Lincoln Ellsworth and his pilojb, P. D. Kenyon, who are missing in the Antarctic: — “ Your offer very much appreciated, but Government regrets it cannot accept, ns ship proceeds direct from Australia to Bay of Whales.” Mr O’Hara is seeking a certificate of airworthiness for his machine to tour New Zealand before returning to Australia early in the New Year. NEW ZEALAND TO CO-OPERATE [Special to the ‘ Star.’] WELLINGTON, December 7. The New Zealand Government has expressed its willingness to co-operate with the Imperial Government and the Commonwealth Government should a relief expedition to search for Mr Lincoln Ellsworth be decided upon. This was announced by* the Minister of Marine (Mr P. Fraser), who stated that a cablegram asking whether New Zealand would co-operate had been received from the High Commisioner in London on December 4, but owing to the change over in Governments it had not been possible to deal with the matter immediately. He had, however, brought it before Cabinet at the first opportunity after taking office yesterday, and Cabinet had agreed that New Zealand should join with the otljcr Governments mentioned should a relief expedition he organised.
