(Received December 5, at 2 p.m.) Experiments with blood tests to decide drunkenness were revealed by Mr M’Adam Eccles. Only a pinprick is necessary. One drop of alcohol to 1,000 drops of blood showed the symptom of being under the influence of liquor: one to 700, drunk; one to 500, dead drunk. ! [Mr M’Adam Eccles is consulting surgeon to the Governor of St. Bartholomew’s Hospital, London. He is the author of many works and papers on surgical subjects.]
