' LONDON, December 2. Described as the biggest snooker fixture ever played, Davis (world champion) and Landrum have begun the first of two all-week matches, each of 61 games, for a wager of £IOO aside and side bets of £SO for the highest break
and the highest aggregate. To-day’s score was 5 all. Lindrum received 7 points in each game. Detailed scores: Lindrum, 65-60, 72-51, 126-17, 75-72, 62-52. Davis, 10441, 63-42, 82-51, 80-45, 74-50. The best break was by Lindrum (81). When Davis, with the pyramid broken, failed to pot when the cue ball jawed in the pocket, Lindrum potted two blues, three pinks, and six blacks.
