RECTOR OF STIFFKEY

ACTION AGAINST BLACKPOOL CORPORATION DAMAGES FOR WRONGFUL IMPRISONMENT Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, November 28. (Received November 29, at 2 p.m.) Since he was unfrocked in 1932 Harold Francis Davidson, the former rector of Stiffkey, protested in various ways, including an exhibition of starvation in a beach show at Blackpool. The show began on July 25, Davidson appearing in one cubicle and his daughter in another, thousands paying for entrance. He was arrested on August 3 on a charge of attempting self-murder by fasting, and was found not guilty. He then claimed damages from the Blackpool Corporation for wrongful imprisonment, and to-day was awarded £382 10s.

Davidson gave evidence during the claim that he at one time appeared in a barrel.
