SEARCH OF ISLANDS FOOTPRINTS IN SAND Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright SINGAPORE, November 23. Captain Hussey, the Qantas pilot, Who has arrived at Singapore from Sayer Island, says that he has searched six islands, two of which arc covered with heavy jungle. He sighted footprints in the sand and also the marks of a boat keel. The Straits Steamship Company’s vessel Alatang is leaving for Sayer Island to make a ground search. nEP'MT BY NATIVE PLANE CRASHES IN FLAMES IN MOUNTAINS. PENANG, November 24. It is reported that a native of the Setul border of Siam, Malaya, saw a plane crash in flames in the mountains. A Royal Air Force plane searched the area without success. The search will be resumed to-morrow. CONFIRMATORY REPORTS, SINGAPORE, November 24. (Received November 25, at 10 a.m.) The stationmaster at Padang Besar reports that the driver of the Siamese train was told by a woodcutter living at Sctal that he saw a plane shoot up over the hill and drop in flames. Another man confirms that he saw a plane flying towards the Setal mountains in rain and thunder.
