HAWAIIAN VOLCANO ERUPTS ... HILO ENDANGERED Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright HILO, November 22. Moving at unusual speed, two streams ot lava from Mokuaweoweo, the second largest active volcano in the world, advanced steadily on Hilo and and the Kona coast to-day. The northeastern stream at 3 p.m. was threatening Hilo, being only 2d miles from the city, having moved 13 miles 'in less than 24 hours. The lava tide washing down the other slope toward ■ the Kona coast had travelled an equal distance. The coastguard vessel Tiger has heen ordered to stand by tor the emergency of the evacuation of the city and the villages along the- coast of the island of Hawaii. The largest of a group of flames shooting up is visible from 60 miles away. The began with earth tremors, and an explosion in Mokuaweoweo’s northern pit.
