ELECTION DAY CRICKET

Cricket followers will have an opportunity of witnessing a good game of cricket on Wednesday, when Otago will meet Southland. A strong side has been selected to represent Otago, with such batsmen as R. O. Talbot, C. Saxton, F. T. Badcock, F. Kerr, K. Bttley, and J. Blakeley, while there should be any amount of variety in the bowling with J. R. Dickinson, A. R. Cameron, N. Henderson, F. T. Badcock, ami R. 0. Talbot in the team. The Southland side is also strong, having the veteran W. Patrick and some very promising players in Scandrett, Anderson, M'Gowan, and Uttley. This match will give the Otago players an opportunity of having a game together, and will also give the selector an opportunity of seeing the Southland players and Blakeley, 1 of Patearoa. The match will commence at 10,30 on Wednesday.
