THE LICENSING POLL.

TO THE EDITOR. Sir, —The liquor interests have taken out their big road ioiler to squash the almost silent little mouse of Prohibition. Why use a steam hammer to crush an eggp What is their game? They are too “ cute ” to spend so much money foolishly. Are they working for such an overwhelming vote in their favour that they will claim further concessions, such as to take away the people’s right to vote on the question, or will they go for 10 o’clock or 11 o’clock closings ? There is something behind it all. Had we not better hold them in check?—l am etc., November 23. Concerned.
