TIMARU TO CHRISTCHURCH [Per United X j ress Association.] CHRISTCHURCH. November 23. One hundred and eleven riders started in the Timaru to Christchurch cycle race to-day. The riding conditions were atrocious. Tho men had to ride against a strong north-east gale for the whole of the journey and at least 75 per cent, of the starters did not complete the course. Tho only outside rider was T. Smith (handicap 40 minutes), of New Plymouth, who finished seventh. If. G. Watson (scr) did not finish. L. G. Fleming made the fastest time. ResultsD.
