RIFLE SHOOTING
DUNEDIN DEFENCE CLUB The Dunedin Defence Uillo Club shut the ■>econil competition tor prizes presented by I resident W. Bamiermau on Saturday afternoon. There was an attendance of 17, and 10 shots (two optional sighters) each were fired at 500yds and 600yds. Weather conditions were fine, but a variable breeze and dull light required care. The best score at 500yds was 49 by Rifleman G. H. Smith, and Rifleman J. L. Bcnfcll was top at 600yds with 46. Riflemen J. L. Benfell and G, 11, Smith headed the day’s aggregate with 93 each, the former taking pride of place on the count back. Following arc the highest scores:—
