(Received November 23, at 12.25 p.m.) Sir Arthur Du Cros, pioneer of the pneumatic tyre, and ex-millionaire, who lent Craigwell House for the King's convalescence, disclosed at his public examination in bankruptcy that his position was due’to -a judgment lor P4,0U0 obtained by his former fiancee. Sir Arthur explained that he agreed in 1926 to pay her t 3,000 yearly and her mother £ooo. Later his ex-fiancce married a husband who did not support her, consequently he supported her and her family until she went abroad in 1933. She returned in 1934 ami demanded £4,742, accrued arrears of income, although he had paid debts and made advances to the extent of £26,000 in excess thereof. Ho added that he was divorced in 1922 and married his present wife in 1929. SEVERE LOSSES IN HAIRY CRASH LONDON, November 22. (Received November 23, at 2 p.m.) Sir Arthur Du Gros gave evidence that Ids income between 1912 and 1918 amounted to £30.000. Ho possessed £1.000,000 in 1918. The Du Cros group lost £950,000 in the Hatry crash, of which lie and his family lost £600,000. He gave Ids family £225,000 between' 1919 and 1929, expended £115,000 on Craigwell and other properties, and lost £BO.OOO on Ids wacht. His investments depreciated by £585.000 between 1919 and 1929. His liabilities amounted lo £71,2,18 and Ids assets £27,016.
