REVISION OF CHAMPIONSHIPS BUSINESS OF FINAL SESSION Consideration of remits from affi* liated clubs and the election- of officebearers for the ensuing year comprised the remainder of the business or the annual conference' of the South Island (N.Z.) Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Association; which concluded last A remit from the Otago Cage Bird Club that there be South Island championships for budgerigars was earned. The Dunedin Specialist ioung Bird Club asked that the championships as previously allotted to the club be ie * n * stated, and it was decided that three champion certificates be issued. Remits from the Dunedin Ltihty Poultrv Club and the council asked that the allocation of championships be revised, and this was attended to by the conference. Remits from the kelson loultry Association suggested .that a set of rules governing all shows affiliated with the Smith Island.j Poultry, Pigeon, and Canary Association be drawn up, and that, certificates of flying hours m flying classes must be handed to the show secretarv at the time of penning. Gallop; homer pigeons, Mr P. D. Kingsford; canaries. Sir R. W. Thompson; secretary and
treasurer, Mr E. Pearce; auditor, Mr V. Bedwell; solicitor, _Mr E. J. Koss. After thanking retiring officers for their services during the year, Mr Bradford (president) paid special tribute to the work of Mr H. A. Pearson, who, he said, had been a council member for seven years without missing a meeting.
