Forecast: Moderate, but freshening, northerly winds. \ Weather cloudy to overcast, with scattered showers." Seas smooth to moderate. SETTLED AND SUNNY CONDITIONS.
More persistently fine weather in the past three days has had its - reaction on temperatures, the maximum recorded yesterday being the highest this month, while that of to-day was_ the result of sunny and warm conditions,with only the lightest of breezes to offset a welcome warmth. After clouding over at noon yesterday the, sky cleared in the afternoon, which was very hot. At midday to-day, when the barometer was steady at 29.9, thq maximum temperature was 68deg, the minimum reading being 60.3 deg. Yesterday’s respective readings jeer*! 68.5 deg and 43.9 deg. „ .
