LAST CARGO FROM ITALY.—After carrying what was probably one of the last cargoes to be shipped to New Zealand from Italy before the trade restrictions were imposed on that country, the new Norwegian motor ship. Brattdal, left Ravensbourne last evening. She brought 5,000 tons of sulphur from Sicily. Of German build and one of the most modern motor ships to visit New Zealand, the Brattdal has a peculiar appearance, her bow having a slope from stem to keel, known as a “Maier” bow.
THE NEW RAIL CONNECTION TO VICTORIA WHARF was used yesterday for the lust time, when loading of the Karetu was commenced from trucks shunted on to the wharf.
