ANXIETY AS TO SAFETY Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright MELBOURNE, November 20. Anxiety is felt for the safety of the Polish aviator, Major Karpinski, and his companion, who are making a goodwill flight to Australia. Nothing has been heard of them since they were at Bangkok 10 days ago. Unconfirmed reports - received in Melbourne state’ that their machine crashed in the jungle north of Takuapa on the day that Sir Charles Kiugsford Smith was lost. CRASH IN JUNGLE \ . AIRMEN UNINJURED. MELBOURNE, November 21. (Received November 21, at 11.45 a.m.) The Consul for Poland (Mr Burke), in response to an urgent message sent .to Singapore asking for news of the Polish airmen, Karpinski and Hogalski, received advice to the effect that the fliers had crashed in the jungle near Takuapa, 10 miles inland on the Isthmus of Kra Siam. Their all-metal monoplane bomber was wrecked, but the airman escaped serious injury. They have abandoned the flight, and are returning to Poland by steamer.
