CARS COLLIDE

ONE BADLY SMASHED ANOTHER KAWARAU CORSE ACCIDENT . \ [SOCIAL TO THE ‘ STAB.’] CROMWELL, November 20. This morning, at about 10,30, si demonstration Chevrolet car, driven by; Mr Jeff Clarke, of Dunedin, who was accompanied by Mr Roy Congalton, the Cromwell agent and garage proprietor: of this town, collided with the Mount Cook service .car, from Queenstown at Waitiri, in the Kawarau Gorge, at a point a little this side of the Victoria bridge. The- car was very badly smashed, and Mr Congalton received severe cuts bn the head, and was admitted to the Cromwell’Hospital, His condition is not regarded as serious. The road, is blocked to traffic until the wreck is cleared - away, for which purpose Mr Congalton’s service car: went to the scene of the accident. From the report of the accident received in' Cromwell the service cap evidently piled up on top of .the Chevrolet car. . This is the-.second serious accident which has happened within the last two weeks in the'Kawarau Gorge.
