According to figures compiled by King,Edward’s Hospital Fund, London voluntary hospitals treated 2,139,000 sick and injured in 1934, •of whom 269,000 were in-patients. The expenditure involved amounted to nearly £4,000,000. Voluntary gifts to the funds of hospitals in 1934 totalled £2,613.000.
