MOVEMENTS ON THE COAST. Totara is to sail this evening for Westport direct, having completed discharge of her cargo of coal. Storjn was scheduled to sail to-day for Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui. Karu is due from Wellington on Friday, and is to sail the same day for Wellington, Nelson, and New Plymouth via ports. Wingatui was due about 4 p.m. today from Auckland direct. She is to sail on Saturday for Oamaru, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Auckland. Waimarino is to leave Auckland on Friday for Wellington, Lyttelton, Dunedin, and Bluff. She is due on November 27. TRANSPACIFIC MAIL SERVICES. —Northbound.— Aoraugi left Sydney on November 7 an’d Auckland on November y' for \ uncouver via Suva and Honolulu. SLo is due at Vancouver on November 29. Lurline left Sydney on November 13 and Auckland on November _l6 for Los Angeles and San Francisco via Suva, Pago Pago, aud Honolulu. She is duo at Los Angeles on November 30 and San Francisco on December 2. Makura is to ledve Sydney on November 21 and Wellington on November 26 for San Francisco via Rarotonga and Papeete. Niagara is to leave Sydney on December 5 and Auckland on December 10 for Vancouver via Suva and Honolulu. She is due at Vancouver on December 27. Monterey is to leave Sydney on December 11 and Auckland on December 18 for Los Angeles and San Francisco via Pago Pago; and Honolulu. She is due at Los Angeles on December 28 and San Francisco on December 30. Maimganui is to leave Sydney on December 19 and Wellington on December 24 for San Francisco via Rarotonga and Papeete. Site is due at San Francisco on January 10. —Southbound.— Niagara left Vancouver on November 6 for Auckland and Sydney via Honolulu and Suva. INTERISLAND EXPRESS. The interisland express steamer Wahiue reached Lyttelton from Wellington at 6.40 a.m. to-day. Passengers and mail, for the south connected with the express, NOLISEMENT TO-MORROW. Messrs A. S. Paterson and Co. advise that the steamer Nolisement is due at Port Chalmers to-morrow morning from the Seychelles Islands via Bluff to discharge a part cargo of phosphates. She will sail about Saturday for Auckland to complete discharge. STRATHNAVER’S CRUISE, The P. and O. liner Strathnaver will arrive at Auckland from Brisbane on the first tourist cruise of the season on Friday afternoon. The ship is to sail on Saturday night for Wellington. PERSONAL. Mr W. J. Freeman has joined the Poolta as chief officer, relieving Mr T. H. Davies, who has transferred to the Tamahine, relieving Mr W. Cole for holidays. Mr 13. H. Young has joined the Kaimai as third officer, relieving Mr R. G. Pierpoint for holidays. Mr D. J. M'Kenzie is now second officer of the Marama, relieving Mr W. H. Millward for holidays. Mr J. A. Pearson, late chief officer of the Koranui, is in Wellington on holiday leave. Mr E. R. Pate is now third officer of the Rangatira, relieving Mr C. R. Carlyoa. TO LOAD PHOSPHATE. The new steamer Auretta, which was recently launched at Burntisland . for the Calpean Shipping Company Ltd., of Irish Town, Gibraltar, has been fixed to load phosphates at Nauru or Ocean Island for- Australian or New Zealand ports. CITY OF BAGDAD ON FRIDAY. The Now Zealand Shipping Company advises that the City of Bagdad is due from New York'via northern ports on Friday next to discharge cargo from the United States. ROTORUA APPROACHING, The New Zealand Shipping Company reports that the Rotorua is due at Port Chalmers on Saturday from Lyttelton. She will discharge cargo from Loudon. BRATTDAL’S DEPARTURE. The Brattdal, which has been discharging phosphate at Ravcnsbourne for some days, is to sail to-morrow for Sydney.,, » CaiNA-D: 'N t SCOTTISH FOR BLUFF. Messrs 11. L. Tapley and Co. advise that the Canadian Scottish is to leave Melbourne on December 5 for Bluff, Dunedin, Lyttelton, Wellington, and Napier. She will then proceed to New York, Boston, and Halifax. KARETU TO-MORROW. The Union Company announces that the Karetu is now due from Newcastle and Sydney via Bluff to-morrow. She is’expected to sail on Friday evening for Lyttelton and Wellington to complete her discharge. WAIKOUAITT FROM SYDNEY. The Waikouaiti is to leave Sydney on Saturday for Bluff, Dunedin,, Timaru, and Lyttelton, reports the Union Company. ’ She is due about November 29. WAIPAWA’S DEPARTURE. The Waipawa, which arrived at'Port Chalmers from Loudon on Sunday, was delayed by rain yesterday, and is now to sail to-morrow afternoon for Lyttelton and Nelson to complete discharge.
