GARDEN PARTY FOR BAND FUNDS

An opportunity will be given to the citizens next Saturday afternoon to inspect the beautiful gardens of Mr S. Solomon, K.C., at Belleknowes. As Mr Solomon has consented to assist the St. Kilda Municipal and Dunedin Highland Pipe Bands in their effort to secure funds, enabling them to represent the city at the forthcoming Dominion contests. Both bands are at present the Dominion champions in their respective sections, and it is naturally anticipated that a large assembly will be present next Saturday so as to assist and encourage thsse bands to retain if possible the honours for, our city. A musical garden party and entertainment will be contributed by both bands. Afternoon tea will be obtainable, with interesting extras for an afternoon’s pleasure, and Mr Baughan, the gardener, will escort visitors desiring information.
